“Promise me you’ll love me when I’m gone.”
“Don’t be so paranoid, brat.”
“Levi, promise me.”
“Do you have hearing problems?”
“Levi, for the love of everything can’t you just tell me you’ll love me even when I’m gone?”
Levi stood up abruptly.
“I won’t say it because I won’t let that happen. I’ll love you now, when we’re alive and together. You aren’t dying on me, (y/n).”
The (h/c) haired girl looked at him, her eyes swelling with tears.
“You’re the Captain, I’m the Cadet. I’m expendable. You are not. I’m supposed to put my life on the line and accept my fate. No matter how it fucking ends, so don’t sit here and tell me you can’t fucking promise me you’ll love me when I’m fucking gone!” She was yelling now, tears rolling down her face uncontrollably.
“I won’t! I won’t say it because we are going to survive together (y/n). You are not expendable. You are a soldier. A soldier who will fight for humanity and for herself.”
He grabbed her face.
“Look at me, brat. I won’t promise shit because you aren’t going anywhere. You’re not dying, you’re living.”
And with that he pushed his mouth onto hers, tongue rolling over her bottom lip. Tears were still streaming down her face, but her eyes locked onto his gaze.
He ran a hand through her hair hand then snaked it to her face, wiping away the tears. She closed her eyes and cupped his face with her hands, still slightly crying.
His kiss was sweet and elegant, a calming, gentle kiss. He let her know he was right here and he would love her no matter what.
She broke away, burying her wet face into his white button up. He pressed her into his warmth, rubbing her head soothingly, the other hand on the small of her back.
“I’ll promise you one thing: if you fall, I’ll be there to help you get back up again. We’re going to survive, (y/n).” He kissed the top of her head.
She sniffled but nodded her head.
“I love you, Levi.”
“I love you, too.”
He let out a shaky breath.

Levi’s 3DMG attached itself onto the wall. He flung himself up to the top and glanced over everyone who had made it back up there safely.
He looked for one specific person.
(Y/n).
She was a part of his squad and they were ordered to attack at the front of the line. The battle was failing, countless dying and screaming. They were given the order to retreat.
(Y/n) was not on top of the wall.
He looked once. Twice. Three times. She was not up there.
His heart suddenly dipped into his stomach for a moment, before he realized that he could find her. Go back out there and look for her.
He looked out onto the open field, all the remaining titans were taken out by the backup squads.
He flung himself from the wall and plummeted toward the ground.
‘I’m coming to find you.’ He thought to himself. ‘I won’t give up until I have found something of you.’
He knew (y/n) was dead. So many titans, so many screams any of them could have been hers.
He approached the remaining squads, trotting over the battlefield. His eyes danced around everything: wreckage, blood, severed limbs, broken bodies. He hated seeing this.
“Captain?” A voice called out. He turned.
Hanji stood before him.
“What?” He said, voice almost cracking. Some small part of him expected to see (y/n).
Hanji looked at the ground.
“What?!” Levi said, fully turning and demanded her to say something. His voice urgent.
Hanji took his shoulder and led him somewhere.
“What the hell are you-” His words stopped, caught in his throat. His eyes formed tears and they fell silently.
On the ground was (y/n), eyes closed and blood surrounded her form. She wasn’t breathing.
He shook Hanji off and knelt before (y/n). He took her hand and cried into it. He didn’t care that people were watching. Or that he was even crying.
He scooped her up bridal style and hugged her. His grip never loosening.
He was still mourning, when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Goddammit, Hanji, go away.”
But the hand snaked to his hair. Its fingers lightly stroking his head.
“What-” He was about to finish when he felt an arm snake around his waist, the hand in his hair moved down, gripping his shirt.
His heart leaped into his throat. He pulled back the body of (y/n) and found those (e/c) eyes staring into his. She was breathing.
“You fucking brat… you… you…” He let out a shaky chuckle and smashed his mouth into hers. They shared a long kiss, both of them delighted that the other was alive.
He looked into her eyes and told her he was here. She pulled away.
“Levi.”
“What?” He said, upset about the end of the kiss.
“You helped me get back up again. You kept your promise.” She smiled, but her smile was that of exhaustion.
“I did indeed.” He smiled wide, a smile that was a mile long. “I love you.”
She softly chuckled and fell asleep in his warmth.
He realized that he made the right promise.
“Don’t be so paranoid, brat.”

He sat there in his chair, finishing paperwork at 3 in the morning. He knew he needed to get to bed, but he was intent on completing the dreaded work. Besides, it's not like he would get a good amount of sleep that night anyway...
He pushed on, hands producing words on the paper that

Kissing You Goodbye (Jean x Reader) Chapter 7
Forewarning, this fic may be a bit violent and occasionally has harsh language.
As your eyes adjusted to the change in lighting entering the mess hall, your ears were greeted with the familiar murmur of noise generated by hungry trainees. Wearily, you followed Jean over to the cafeteria area to load up your tray, but despite your hunger you no longer felt like eating.
In stark contrast to the peace and relief you had felt in the shade of the willow tree, the weight of reality had returned to burden your shoulders and press upon your heart. Running your disinterested gaze over the food options, you resigned yourself to a bowl of gruel-like o

Kissing You Goodbye (Jean x Reader) Chapter 12
Forewarning, this fic may be a bit violent and occasionally has harsh language.
This city is desolate.
It resembles the remains of a catastrophe, or a war-zone, large areas close to the inner wall comparably more intact than the buildings towards the outer wall.
Great plumes of smoke rising lazily into the crimson, darkening sky, embers dying in silence upon the breeze. They almost resemble the towers that once stood there, now lying in ruins beneath their cloud impostors.
Windows, shattered and strewn across the pavement, discarded iridescent fragments reflecting the ominous light. Shards crunch and crackle beneath thick leather boots.

I love this one
Almost expected it to end like most I've read, so glad I was wrong
